It took me years to free myself from drowning in my anxiety over creating perfection in everything I do in my life.
Why the need to be so critical of ourselves?
Why the need to second-guess so much of what we want to do?
Why do we talk ourselves out of our desires?
The need to do everything and have everything perfect in the world isn’t embracing what this world is about:
The Universe is comprised of chaos of asymmetry.
That’s right! We are NOT meant to do everything and have everything perfect in the world. It’s not the natural way.
So, give yourself permission to TWEAK as you go. Meaning, if you have a desire to do something, start doing it. By you taking manifesting actions around your desires SHOWS the Universe you mean business. A thought is powerful, a feeling is even MORE powerful, and action? Well, that’s particle vibrations at its finest.
Be the director of your story. The more you take manifesting action around your desires attracts more of the same back to you because you funnel the particles into your physical sphere through your focus and unwavering belief.
If you don’t receive your desires within your first go-around, it just means you are practicing for the actual manifestation.
Practicing builds more confidence.
Give yourself a break, in doing so makes you more open to receiving your desires because you are more relaxed about it.
Tweak as you go. Each time you have an experience you gain clarity, and clarity helps you to funnel those bouncing particles into the shapes of your desires.
Give yourself permission TO tweak your masterpiece in the making. Manifesting is a fun journey, so allow it to BE a fun journey. This is what life’s about, Beautiful Soul!
I believe in you, now it’s time to believe in yourself.
Sometimes having a good cry, releasing all the pressure you build up from your own thoughts you start to believe are true, is necessary in order to thrive. Notice I say “thrive”, not “survive”. It always dumbfounds me when people put on facades in an attempt to convince others they are interminably strong and everything in their life is perfect. What is “perfection”, anyway?
This is not the kind of life we are meant to thrive in.
When you observe natural wonders such as the Grand Canyon, Mt. Everest, and even the Aurora Borealis, do you see perfect symmetry? No! Every year millions of people flock to these places because they want to see asymmetrical beauty. Do you think the Grand Canyon would be as breath-taking if it had only one dimension?
Stop Limiting Yourself, Set Your Limits to be Limitless
Our Universe is limitless, and YOU are made up of elemental particles, the same particles that make up our Universe. Why are you limiting yourself? What you define as “beautiful” or “perfect” is because YOU define it as “beautiful” or “perfect”? Or, are you allowing others to sway your opinions when it comes to the definition of real beauty?
Careful, I could be asking a trick question…
Hint: you’re supposed to reply to me and ask, “What is ‘real beauty’, anyway?”
What you perceive to believe is what creates and you receive.
Beauty and perfection are both perception. That’s all it is. We over-complicate what these definitions mean underneath our layers of fear and insecurity.
For your Mastering ManiFASTing journaling, I urge you to:
1) Finish this sentence stem at least 10 times with 10 different answers: I am being so hard on myself because…
2) List out 4 things you love about yourself (they can be anything and everything).
3) For each 4 things you list, give 3 reasons WHY your 4 things are unique and beautiful.
4) Then finish this sentence stem at least 10 times with 10 different answers: I am a total Badass at life because…
Can you think of anyone else who has what you have, exactly to the Universal formula you entail? Even identical twins have different personalities…
I want to know: why have you been hard on yourself? What do you realize you love about yourself now? And why are you a total Badass at life?
You are STILL manifesting despite the hard days we all experience. We are ALL human. Keep going! You ARE manifesting it, you get to CHOOSE what you focus on each day. And don’t forget: carpe diem! You CAN do this!
As I half-sit, half-lay in bed on a Sunday afternoon with my puppy next to me and my laptop sitting on my lap, I am watching “The History of the Eagles Part I” on Netflix and reflecting on how so many musicians (not just the Eagles) were a bit of perfectionists while up and coming. As humans we tend to focus on other people’s “success” as IS, but forgetting the fact that we all go through ups and downs along the way. What is “success” anyway?
Why are we so obsessed with being perfect IN ORDER TO BE successful?
I started thinking about my own purpose on this planet and how I am a recovering perfectionist, but it still plagues me as I keep creating my content in leaving marks in the world. In fact, as I am writing this right now I keep deleting my words and altering them, or I just give up in frustration, retype them, and move on to the next sentence. I did say I am a recovering perfectionist.
How did I become such a perfectionist? It started after a traumatic moment in my younger life. When I was a kid, my room was such a MESS all the time. I remember my mom constantly telling me, “go clean your room!” However, once I had reached my teenage years, I went through some mental and emotional trauma, and it was like I snapped into a completely different person. From that point on, though I did not realize it at the time, I was trying to control my surroundings by having a very tidy and organized room. I was always one to make A’s in school, but my urge to be perfect in the sense of receiving grades of 100 became stronger. I hated change. I thought change was a loss of control, so I tried everything to keep things from changing. Life won.
I had a mental breakdown one year while in college.
From that point forward I knew I had to make some self-changes in order to survive in this world. While it wasn’t my utter low-point in life (that came later on at 26 years old when I had my FULL revelation), it was definitely eye-opening for me. I realized I was piling way too much onto my “plate”. I was trying SO HARD to look perfect, to BE perfect, and I had lost control. I had lost ALL control of my “perfect” life. I had lost ALL control of myself.
We all have unique gifts to express
Each and every one of us has unique gifts in this world. There is not a single person on this planet filled with over 7 billion people that doesn’t have a purpose, a gift, a message to convey and to completely OWN while on this journey. We are so addicted to struggling, to hustling, to leaving our footprints in perfection before we depart from this earth. We are so consumed by looking and being perfect that we FORGET how to truly LIVE. We forget how to truly think and FEEL. We forget how to truly BE one with our soul and one with the Universe.
Success can be just as disconcerting and frightening as failure- Don Henley
Who cares about being perfect, attempting to be perfect, and pushing ourselves to the point of exhaustion by thinking we have something to “prove” to this world and to ourselves. This is NOT life. This is NOT being in alignment. This is NOT freedom. This is NOT living by our soul’s truest purpose. How can we share our gifts to the world when we obsess over being so perfect? Perfection IS imperfect because it’s not real, it’s not true to who we are, and it’s not a genuine connection to our soul’s purpose. It’s perfectly fulfilling to be full of imperfections! Embrace it, live it, OWN IT.
So as we continue on our soulful journey that we call “life”, it’s super important to remain in what the Eagles refer to as a “peaceful, easy, feeling” and to “take it easy” along the way. Life is too short to obsess over being perfect, for we only have today and we are not promised tomorrow.
Besides, being perfekt is NO fun! 🙂
